Coquelin scores to make it 1-1
New signings Mikael Silvestre and Amuary Bischoff both returned from injuries to play there first competitive game for Arsenal tonight in a 3-2 Reserves match win vs Stoke.

Mikael Silvestre
Played a full 90mins and was quietly commanding at the back. Showed his experience and showed a great range of passing.Still needs more games and looked a little rusty but his quality was clear to see.

Amuary Bischoff
None of us knew much about him before tonight but now we have had a little taste and he was impressive. Played 56mins before coming off. Bischoff played just off the strikers and linked the play well. Hardly gave the ball away, He showed some nice touches, knocked the ball around well. He also showed that he has a eye for goal with an effort in the first half that went just wide from 25 yards. Look forward to seeing more of him.
Other players who impressed me tonight.
Francis Coquelin
Scored a cracking goal with his left foot from 25 yards, great workrate and loves a 50/50 tackle.Reminds me of Flamini with a bit more skill.
Kyle Bartley
A real powerhouse at the back. a couple of crunching tackles on Vincent Pericard.Showed good pace and like Silvestre good distribution from the back.
Luke Ayling, Kieran Gibbs, Jay Simpson & Jack Wilshere also all caught the eye.
Arsenal
Szczesny; Ayling, Gibbs, Coquelin (Frimpong 64), Bartley, Silvestre, Bischoff (Sunu 57), Randall, Simpson, Fonte, Wilshere. Subs: Shea, Steer, Eastmond.
Stoke
St Louis-Hamilton; Davies, Wilkinson, Shawcross (c), Dickinson; De Laet (Alexander 69), Soares, Wedderburn, Pugh; Moult, Pericard. Subs: T Harrison, Connor, McDonald

I’m looking for a bit more info on Bischoff. Is he more of an offensive midfielder, or do you think he can play a Flamini-type role. Flamini wasn’t a big guy, but he had a good work rate and could tackle…he also scored some cracking goals last season. The reason I ask is because Denilson is still too raw in my eyes, and Song is like Gilberto.

Jrock. From what i saw of him tonight he is the type of player who can play just behind the stikers more of a Rosicky type of player.

i think he is CM, but thought he looked pretty good for someone who hasn’t played in a while. I thought Coquelin was impressive..

So Song plays like a world cup winner – no room for Bischoff then.
More seriously! As the report says, Bischoff played just off the two strikers so I don’t see him as a defensive midfielder. I thought he did ok but was not impressive. He didn’t strike me as having the same ability on the ball as a Rosicky/Hleb/Nasri so I don’t see him as ‘no. 10′ but it is early days yet.

I have heard so much about Bischoff I would like to see him play, but as most of Arsenal’s games appear now to be played on Setanta I doubt whether I for one will ever be able to see him play.
I am also looking forward to Eduardo coming back hopefully before Xmas. I just hope he has recovered sufficiently to be able to play a part in a first team match and gets stronger, also I look forwrd to Rosicky returning and hope that both he and Eduardo can come back as strong as they were before their injuries and play a part in Arsenals forthcoming games for the rest of the season.
