Arsenal’s shaky defence must keep an eye on the dangerman Semih

Today TGF Blog will give you a in depth look into our Turkish opponents on Wednesday night.

We are lucky to have a few members on the forum from Turkey who have given us a breakdown on their recent form and a players guide.

So what do we know about Fenerbahce?

They are managed by the old fox Luis Aragonés who has had a very shaky start to his term in Turkey.

Fenerbahce find themselves in an unformiliar 10th place in the league at present, After 7 games they have only 9 pts.

They recently got hammered at home 4-1 by the novice side Kayserispor and were booed off the pitch by there hostile fans, However they did manage to win at the weekend beating Kocaelispor 2-3 (a) courtesy of a 96th minute strike by Semih Şentürk. Im sure you all remember him from the Euro 2008? He was the striker who keep popping up for Turkey with the last min goals.

Ex Newcastle man Emre is out injured as is Deivid (who scored 5 in the CL last season including that crack against Chelski).

But Fener still have a host of gifted players including Guiza and Alex who will pose the most danger to us.

I predict the Fener team will look like this.

Önder,Lugano, Edu, Carlos,
Kazım,Selçuk, Alex, Boral
——–Semih, Guiza

A basic 4-4-2 with wide players who both have loads of pace and skill. Upfront they have a good partnership of Semih and Guiza who are both very good finishers and work hard for the team. At the back they have a south american influence with the experienced Lugano, Edu & Roberto Carlos.

I think if we can get an early goal this will get the crowd on Luis Aragonés back and this will effect the players. But in reverse we must not concede an early goal as this will give fener a much needed boost.

My prediction for the game is a 2-1 win for the Arsenal.
