After Aston Villa failed to win against Stoke City on a 2-0 lead, they left Arsenal with the chance to put some pressure on them. We went to play our next league game tuesday night with a point to prove, that we can score.
Many still wont be convinced but finally we put the ball in the back of the net and that’s what matters at the end of the day! It may have been against West Brom but this can now put some confidence in the lads to go on and continue a possible run. We have another 9 days before we play our next game in the Premier League, with having a F.A. Cup game and Champions League game in between. Now if we can go on and beat Burnley and Roma with a nice scoring sheet this should prepare us for our League games further on.
Aston Villa slipped up again last night losing to Man City, so we now trail 3 points. Looking at there fixtures it is possible they can drop 12 points over there next five games. There form and “luck” have started to fade out and it’s time Arsenal get a good run to take advantage of that. If we fail to do so then quite frankly we don’t deserve to make CL this season. We now have the advantage “fixture” wise.
Slowly our players are coming back and soon enough we should have a full solid side back to possibly compete in the CL and F.A. Cup. It’s all about getting through against Burnley and Roma within the next 2 weeks.
It seemed Arsene Wenger made a better choice of formation this week aswell but doesn’t he see when it works and when it doesn’t? He should look at these things and understand players should play there actual possitions rather then throwing them anywhere he feels as they have no problem with it. (Eboue & Song especially)
I will not sit here and criticise though, this post is to look at the positive and pray the mighty red army carry some passion to keep getting the goals in. Bendtner looked good on Tuesday and so did Arshavin, he played brilliant! Looks like his goal is coming real soon, hopefully he can stun the fans scoring up against Roma away.
Congrats on the win Arsenal and breaking that depressing goaless spell.
